Gather Documents

We’ll need several documents from you to obtain a CoS. These documents can take several weeks to prepare, such as transcripts from your current university and confirmation of your role as an intern. But don’t worry, skills360 walks through each requirement with you.

Wait for Sponsorship

It can take anywhere from 5 to 15 days for a sponsor to review your entire CoS application. Of course, the more information you can provide under step #2 the better.

Receive your CoS

Once you have your CoS assigned, you have permission to work in the U.K. in the particular role and at the particular company stated in your CoS. Yet, you may need assistance using your CoS to get a U.K. visa, skills360 can help with that too.

Required docs

Want to be as prepared as possible? Start gathering these documents for your CoS application

Valid Passport:

You will need specific forms of identification for your CoS application, the most important and time consuming is a valid passport. We highly recommend that your passport is valid for one year from the start date of your internship, but the minimum requirement is six months.

Bank statements:

Many CoS applicants are required to show they have enough money to support themselves in the U.K. – this requirement is even more important if your internship is unpaid. The easiest way to show adequate funds is with copies of your bank statements for the past 3-6 months.

Current CV:

skills360 will gather information on your role, internship placement, and job duties for a CoS application, but one thing we need from you is an up-to-date CV. It should be entirely accurate and include all prior education and work experience.

Not going to the U.K.?

Every country has different visa and sponsorship requirements. The processes can be very different! It is important you learn about the right visa process from the start.

If you are working in the U.S. as an international intern, you need to apply for a J-1 visa, skills360 can help. Begin by reading our guide to the J-1 visa.
